SEVCA (Southeastern Vermont Community Action) and CVCAC (Central Vermont Community Action Council) have hired disaster case managers specifically for areas covered by UV Strong. These case managers will work directly with clients to learn their needs and resources, and to help them set out a plan back to full recovery from Tropical Storm Irene.
Many of us are starting to realize exactly what “long term” recovery means. This is a process that will take many months, if not years, to complete. As we move forward it is important to remind our communities that for most disaster survivors, the experience is far from over, and support for those families needs to continue.
There are also people out there who did not register with FEMA but need help now. Please pass the word that Upper Valley Strong is the best resource for folks at this stage of the recovery. They can apply from the I Need Help section of this website.
