Holiday Gift Assistance in the Upper Valley 2020

Need any assistance getting some gifts under the tree this year? Here is a list of Upper Valley organizations and programs that can help you spread some holiday cheer. 

COVER Home Repair – COVER is offering a free book program for children. Families who shop at The COVER Store can receive two free children’s books. The COVER Store is located at 158 S. Main Street, White River Junction, VT. Call 802-296-7241.

The Family Place will sign up clients for the following programs OR clients may sign up directly with contact listed.

Hartland Christmas Project – For Hartland families only. If you have identified a family in need, they need to contact Jeannie Frazer directly by phone. She will provide them with forms to complete. Contact: Jeannie Frazer 802-436-2792 ASAP

Toys For Tots – Families should contact the following agency to request a toy referral: LISTEN 603-448-4553, Catholic Charities 603-448-5151, The Haven 802-478-1803. Electronic Referrals are not accepted. Need ID for parents or guardians (Custody verification papers) at pick-up.

LISTEN Community Services – LISTEN can provide their store vouchers for people who have missed the holiday gift basket sign ups. Call 603-448-4553. Toys for Tots referrals are available through LISTEN Community Services. Call 603-448-4553. LISTEN Christmas Dinner – Dinner will be a take-out dinner this year due to COVID. Friends of Mascoma – Holiday food basket program that has a sign up for people in Canaan or Enfield, with a deadline of December 15th to register.

VT 211 – Go to Home page.  Click Seasonal Resources.  Click Holiday Resources.  Click Directory here.   At Keyword Search, type Holiday and go to Holiday Gifts/Toys, in the drop-down menu. Next screen will show alphabetical list of towns with Holiday information.  Scroll to your town.

Capital Region Holiday Food Basket Project – Serves the following towns in NH: Allenstown, Boscawen, Bow, Canterbury, Chichester, Concord, Contoocook, Dunbarton, Epsom, Hopkinton, Loudon, Pembroke, Penacook, Pittsfield, Salisbury, Suncook, Warner and Webster. The Holiday Food Basket Project provides a wonderful holiday meal and sometimes, enough food to sustain a family of four for 2-3 additional weeks. Email: hfbp@capitalregionfoodprogram.org

Angel Tree Program – The Salvation Army and Walmart are partnering to ‘Rescue Christmas’ in 2020 through their Angel Tree Program. Please call the Salvation Army closest to your home.  A few towns/numbers/hours are listed below. Be prepared to provide your child’s first name, age, clothing sizes, and special needs when you call.  Please call as soon as possible.
